Valentine's Day/Anniversary- I love my husband

Oh Valentines day- here you are again.  Along with Valentine's day my hubby and I get to celebrate an anniversary. Not our wedding anniversary but still, a special one. February 16th is our 4 years/ 6 years.  4 years because its when we got back together- 6 years because that is the total amount of how long we have been together.  Warning: I am about to get sappy about my husband and our relationship.
* I call him Boo- I have no idea when it started or where it came from but I call him that
* I know that he is mad at me when he calls me Trina- not babe- haha
* I love that when he is asleep- he will still roll over and cuddle me when I get into bed
* I love that he has mad cooking skills- even though he rarely uses them
* I love how sweet he is- but he hides it.
* I love that he tries to be my best friend when I don't have one
* When I have my breakdowns- he seriously is the one person that knows how to make it better
* He complains about the TV shows I love but he always is the one that buys the seasons of those shows on DVD for me cause he knows how much I love them
* I love that he complains about how spoiled I am but he still spoils me anyway
* I love how optimistic he is when I am such a downer
* I love watching him play guitar- especially acoustic guitar. It melts my heart <3

These are reasons that I LOVE my Boo :)

Blah, Blah, Blah

The longer I am married, the more I discover about myself. Is that weird? Haha Living with someone and giving them all you have really makes you see the kind of person you are…and this is what I have discovered.

I like to be cold, only so I can cuddle

I hate dirty microwaves, the thought of crusty food in there makes me want to vomit

I can easily drink a 24 pack of diet pepsi in like 3 days- I’m a DP junkie

Between myself and my husband we can drink two gallons of milk a week…love milk

I like cooking…when I have the supplies and the time

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to bake-mostly because I like to eat the leftover dough

I CANNOT sleep easily in a queen bed with another person

I like to sleep kind of sideways

I never ever hang up my clothes once I take them off the hanger, even if I don’t wear them

I want to wear scarves with everything I own

I love wearing boots and not heels lately

Getting dressed is what takes me the longest when getting ready

I can do my make-up and hair in 20 minutes if I have to

I was recently diagnosed with RA (rheumatoid arthritis)—It makes me feel helpless in the morning sometimes.

I am an anal clean freak- I will never make fun of my mom or sister again!

I have two sets of friends (good timers and homebodies)

I spend too much money without realizing it

I want to paint every wall in our house—hubbs won’t let me

I am a spoiled brat—and proud of it

I truly love our house, but wish we would have paid more debt off before we bought it

I secretly wish I could drive hubbys car as awesome as he does- even though I make fun of him for it

I HAVE to have a bed time treat-my dad started this with me when I was two

I HEART otter pops

I wish my friends lived closer- I feel a little secluded

I want new carpet in our house like soooooo bad!

I tend to get a little “therapist” with my husband because we were raised differently

I wished I lived closer to my sisters—shout out to Lehi!!

I don’t get mad at situations anymore, I just cry..and cry..and then call my husband. Ha

I call Colby for EVERYTHING-seriously. I have no idea why

I can’t sleep in anymore- not even on the weekends

I like to be in charge at work- even when I hate it- I still like it

I wish I had more of a desk job at times because when 4:30 rolls around the last thing I want to do is go home and cook and clean all night

I want a whole new wardrobe-like right now

I already have too many clothes : /

I am really organized at work but am not organized that well at home

I am kind of not 100% on my career choice

I think deep down I want to work in the fashion industry, but living in Utah doesn’t help with that

I want to spend like 3 weeks in New York- I would rather go there than a beach

I love going out to dinner- doesn’t matter where-just love it

I love writing things down typing things out

Love having a blog even if nobody reads it!! Haha

Oh January...

So I have been doing some smaller projects this month trying to work myself up to doing a dresser and a bench/chest thing that I want to put in our room.  I am finding little things and end up keep wanting to put more stuff in our master bedroom- which is getting considerably harder because the room is filling up quick and that is without the dresser and chest.  SO...........
here are some things--- I had this idea to make some sort of collage on this bare wall in our room- colored frames with all black and white pictures.  I have gradually picked up frames at the DI and made one myself and finally got them all hung up tonight.

meh? The brighter yellow one down in the left hand corner needs to have black glaze put on it so its not as bright but it looks ok for now right?

I turned our centerpieces from our wedding into some decorative things for our room- because in all honesty whoever knows what to do with those after the wedding?
This is how they were for our wedding--

And this is how they look now that I have transformed them- I have two of these smaller ones and then one big one for our dresser.  I spray painted the twiggy stick things black and yellow- with the reliable Krylon spray paint (plain black and bright idea yellow) picked up two vases from wal mart costing about 5 bucks each ( the originals from our wedding were borrowed) My mom gave me the other vase for the big one. Pretty cheap decoration for our room- not to mention cute right?

Over Thanksgiving my sister Jodie had this idea for a project- take frames and take the backs out and put vinyl on them.  She did her last name (cause it is short and sweet) and I did the word "Family" I got my frames at the DI- of course for about .50 cents to $1.25- spray painted them with Kylon color celery- sanded down the edges and stained them.  Again-- I like to go the cheap route- although it is much more time consuming than just buying some cute frames.
Here are Jodie's frames--

And here are mine all hung up and looking cute in our upstairs hallway-

I made a Jewelry box for my niece Brenna- It was my first detailed re-do and it turned out ok- I got it at the DI for $2.00
BEFORE--

AFTER--
Pretty cute right? I just had this idea when I was standing there in the DI-  I have always wanted something bigger to use this Krylon spray paint color called Blue Ocean Breeze  (i think that is the name) and when I saw this jewelry box I thought "Wow that would be cute in the blue color with some zebra filling in it-- so I made it happen! I also found this table at the DI for 5 bucks- I just painted it- nothing too fancy yet so I might add a little something extra but I haven't decided yet.
BEFORE--
yucky right?
AFTER--
see nothing crazy fancy but better than before right?
I had painted this frame a while ago but just glazed it so now its finished- my aunt gave it to me and it was gold before. I put it right above our bed (for future reference, when going to get a picture enlarged- they dont make the size 14x18- I had to get 12x18.)

Loooover it- Colby's little sister got her photographer/ crafting skills on and made me and her mom one of these cute signs- it says Lambourne and she went and took all the pictures herself down town- notice how the U in Lambourne is the U up on the hill at the University of Utah? that is Colby's favorite part- I'm sure of it. Colby finally hung this for me a couple weeks ago at the top of our stairs.
she did a good job huh? I love it!! I have already gotten a couple compliments on it- the best part? it's homemade- not bought! Ok- I am off to bed- I have school and work tomorrow- don't be jealous.  I am hoping to work up some courage to start a bigger project this week! wish me luck!

oh where oh where have I been!

Oh geez! Let's see-- recently I have had a fantastic Thanksgiving,  Christmas, and New Years, been to Wendover (lost a whole 29 dollars...damn!), been sick, been promoted to lead MA at my work (yay!...i think..haha), gotten a new car with AWD (and a new payment..boo), been sick, made some crafty things for our house ( pics to come), oh yeah...did I mention that I have been sick? FML. Sickness has taken over my body for the last 6 weeks.  Started with a cold- runny nose, sinus pressure, headache--which then it continued with a cold but then the bloody runny nose creeped in there and then a sore throat and now I have a ridiculous sore body--no i did not fall, exercise too much, or over strain myself...trust me, remember...been sick for 6 weeks-haven't been crazy ambitious. My body seriously feels like I am an 80 year old woman- it started with my right hip, moved to my knees, into my arms, hands and shoulders (can't lift my arms very high) and now as I am writing of my troubles my jaw is becoming stiff and sore...oh and I still have a sore throat...awesome? I think so.  I start school up again next week and I am excited and anxious- I just want to get a good grade but I know I have to buckle down because this is seriously not as easy as I would like it to be.  My best friend Tiffany had her little monkey on November 21st- he weighed 6 pounds and 2 ounces and was BARELY 19 inches long--tiny lil guy! His real name- although I will barely be calling him that is Brydan-
Hi...precious baby much? yes I think so.
I also finished our headboard for our room- that's been awhile though- I am just slow on the update.  A couple months ago I decided that I was going to re-do our master bedroom in yellow, gray and black.  So I found this headboard at the DI for a cool 20 bucks- Jamie doubted its capabilities at first glance but then she saw the potential.
The Before--hey 80's retro much?

The Marvelous after!
It's Gray with a black glaze.

It now goes with this bed set
kind of a crappy picture but our room wasn't clean so i couldn't take a real picture haha-remember... I have been sick! So I leave with these fun little updates- I hope to feel better ASAP so that I can post much more of my new creations.  I hope you all had wonderful holidays and I hope your new year is going great!!

"A friend is someone that walks in when the rest of the world walks out"

** WARNING-Picture overload!**

I was thinking about this on my way home from my BFF Tiffany's house tonight (it's tuesday- which means Glee and treat night) I have seriously been friends with Tiffany since I was born, 22 years ago. Her mom and my sister were best friends and lived across the street from each other. So when she was born in May of 1988 and I was born in July of 88- we were "forced" to be friends as we like to joke but really it all worked out for the best. We have been through it all- her moving away, us going to different schools, her constantly biting me when we were little (she had little buck teeth that she just loved to crunch into people), me punching her in the nose (for the biting- obviously) I was there on her wedding day and she was there on mine and now that she is about to have her first baby any day now and seeing as how it is the wonderful month of being thankful- I wanted to take a moment to be thankful for Tiffany Lynne. I can't believe that both of us are married and one of us will be a mommy any day now! I know she will be an awesome mommy and I can't wait to be an auntie to my little monkey

Haha I love you!

This is one of my favorites! It's so classic tiff and trina

I love this one too!

Back when it all started...look at those buck teeth! RAWR!

Is it sad??

Is it sad that I just want to do crafty things all the live long day? seriously! I went on another adventure with dear Jamie today. By adventure I mean a trip to the DI, well actually two DI's. We hit a small jackpot at the DI in Sandy because both Jamie and I found something! YAY! more to come on those... got you excited huh? you thought I was actually going to tell you what we bought! HA! But we did start work on one of my projects. I am beyond excited....like a little kid waiting for Christmas morning. Spray paint is going to rock my world for the next little while. I want to be working on these projects all the time- I wish we had like a big ole shop with everything we needed and we could just go to town on this stuff. I have seriously enjoyed having this time before the holidays to just relax after work and on weekends to do my own thing. In the past I have always had school and homework but it feels good to take a break and do something that I actually want to do! I bet you can't wait for pictures right? yeah me either! stay tuned kids-it's gettin fun!

MY FAVORITE NEW "HOT SPOT"!!

blogger lessons 101??

Am I the only one that is just not amazing at figuring out how to do all these crazy, creative and beautiful things to their blog? I think I would really love this that much more if I knew everything I was doing...a little help out there please from the 5 of you I know in the blogging world. On a positive note, my delightful friend Jamie has turned me onto following this awesome blog betterafter.blogspot.com. The creator of this blog gets all these pictures and stories from other people out there of totally hideous (but cheap *keyword*) things such as furniture, lighting fixtures, old dated kitchens. She shows you what they looked like before and then the awesome after pics. It makes me feel inspired to do a little of that myself... we will see how this works out haha. I always start off strong on something and then it fades unless I can really really get into it. But Jamie has an empty garage to use as a workspace and a creative brain so I am hoping she will help keep me goin'! I will keep you updated! I was also thinking about re-doing the color/ design of our bedroom (not that it has any real design to begin with) but I was thinking about the colors grey, yellow and black...with hints of white. Know of any good grey and yellow bed sets or decorations?? Our downstairs is officially done, decorated and painted ( victory dance....woot woot!) I will post pics of that soon. Now I just need to get the three rooms and two bathrooms upstairs done...blah! Getting excited for the holiday season even though I dont have any money or decorations, just excited for the warm feeling and the holiday spirit! I love sitting by a Christmas tree with a blanket and hot chocolate! I can't believe we are already in November!!
